Stuttering is a speech disorder that affects the person’s ability to speak smoothly. People who stutter know what they want to say, but have trouble saying it because their speech fluency is interrupted by: Repeating sounds in words or phrases (e.g. ‘I I I I can do it’) Prolonging sounds in a word (e.g. ‘where’s my bbbbanana’?)
