“It’s not only children who grow. Parents do too. As much as we watch to see what our children do with their lives,
they are watching us to see what we do with ours. I can’t tell my children to reach for the sun. All I can do is reach for
it, myself.”

― Joyce Maynard

Being a parent is never easy. Regardless of a calm temperament and the possession of bottomless patience, even the most ideal parents can struggle to support their children. Every child with autism is a unique individual with their own thought processes, choices, and manners.

Project ImPACT is recognised as one of the most effective coaching programs for parents of young children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and related social communication delays. Project ImPACT teaches parents strategies they can use to help their child develop social, communication, imitation, and play skills during daily routines and activities.

OneOnOne’s personalised Parent Training Program uses Project ImPACT. Our parent training program is led by expert coaches who are Speech Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, psychologists and educators. The program caters to parents with children struggling with behavioral or/and developmental challenges. This program is for parents of your children with autism and other developmental issues. It helps parents to understand the challenges that their children face in learning and communicating.

The teaching topics that comprise the Project ImPACT curriculum are as follows:

  • Set Up Your Home for Success
  • Focus on Your Child
  • Adjust Your Communication
  • Create Opportunities to Teach Your Child
  • Understand Prompts and Rewards
  • Teach New Skills in the Areas of:
    • Social Engagement
    • Understanding Communication
    • Using Communication
    • Imitation
    • Play

Much more than just a crash course on the causes, symptoms, and treatments of autism and developmental delays, Project ImPACT helps develop the strategies for parents so that they can deliver therapy at any time across the day.
